Glass Guard BW

Caustic section additive with glass protection and defoaming properties.

Glass Guard BW is a liquid primary additive development for use in bottle washers cleaning glass, refillable PET and PEN bottles with enhanced glass and applied ceramic label protection and contains a blend of sequestrants and surfactant based defoamers.

Glass Guard BW reduces caustic etching, protects glass bottles and applied ceramic labels, and provides effective detergency for the removal of labels, glue, and other soils with sequestrants for prevention of hard water scale and removing rust and aluminium from metallised labels. Foam control is achieved using surfactant based defoamers.

Why choose Glass Guard BW

  • Protects glass, increasing the number of trips for bottles prior to quality control rejection due to scuff bands, lowering float replacement costs and improving package appearance

  • Improves operational efficiency and effectiveness by inhibiting scale   build up and nozzle blockage thus reducing maintenance frequency, time, and associated costs

  • Enhances detergency for removal of soil, rust aluminium, and labels,   resulting in effective cleaning and reduced reject rates

  • Controls foam in problematic bottle washers which assists label extraction and reduces pump cavitation, allowing level probes to work efficiently thus minimising caustic carryover

  • Improves rinsing ensuring surfaces are clean and residue free and lowers spotting

  • Suitable for automatic dosing, ensuring effective product use and performance

  • Reduces the risk of stress cracking with ref-PET bottles, allowing for it to be used on mixed package lines (e.g., glass and ref-PET bottles) reducing site complexity
